Background info:
In 1958, the headquarters building was used by the naval base command, the naval communications section North Sea, the staff of the 2nd escort squadron, the command of the minesweepers, the supply flotilla, the naval communications group Cuxhaven and the officers' mess Cuxhaven. From 1970 to 1974, the barracks were temporary accommodation for the FlaRakBtl. 37, for which new buildings were then built in Altenwalde. From 1977 to 1994, an army specialist training company was located here. Since 1995, it has been used largely for civilian purposes.
