In an excellent condition a Polish medal "For participation in the defensive war of 1939"
a Polish commemorative state decoration established by the Act of July 3, 1981 as an expression of recognition for people who took an active part in the defensive war fought by Poland against the German invader from September 1 to October 6, 19391.
It was created as an attempt to gain the support of society demanding the truth after 1980. Like the Warsaw Insurgent Cross established at the same time for a similar purpose, it could be awarded posthumously, as well as to citizens of other countries who had Polish citizenship at the time of the events commemorated with it. This medal was also the first Polish People's Republic decoration with the image of a crowned military eagle
