In an excellent condition a rare Luftwaffe honor medal of the air war school 3

This is a late war medal from after May 1944 when Luftkriegschule 3 moved to Oschatz

Frontside: The medal with a diameter of 53 mm shows a luftwaffe emblem in front of a semi-circular granulated background and the inscription created in fractal script: Luftkriegschule-3. The horizontal font bar shows the inscription: Oschatz i.S.. In Oschatz were various Luftwaffe air schools before and during the war. The empty area underneath would normally be engraved with the name of the air man to whom the medal was given out. Which would mean this specific medal to be unused as such.

Backside: This specific medal has oppose to other medals of this kind, 4 big heavy prongs and some remnants of a wire. Which would propably mean it has been attached to a machine or something else. It was not meant to be worn on clothing because it would be to heavy.

The Medal of Honor of the Air Warrior School 3 was a non-compatible award of the German Air Force during the Second World War, which was awarded by Colonel Nikolaus Graf von Luckner during his command time of the Air Warts school 3 in Wildpark-Werder from August 5, 1940 to September 23, 1943. The school had already started school operations in 1939. Air war school 3 was before 1940 named Luftkriegsschule Werder / Havel and was moved again in May 1944 to Oschatz.
