3rd Reich Kochgeschirre M31 Kriegsgefangene (Batraki/ Ural)
In a good but used condition a M32 messkit of a prisoner of war (Batraki/ Ural)
The German soldier was a prisoner of war in Batraki. He made an elaborate design on his messkit with the entire crest of his town Lühnde (niedersächsen) on one side and on the other side he made his initials in a shield with decorations and underneath in a ribbon. Russ'ka Batraki/ Wolga and most likely the time he was interned 1943-1947. On the lid he wrote his last name Witthuhn. He had repaired his messkit with nails and the handle he wrapped with wire. Later M31 aluminium messkits were made with iron handles like this one. It look like it was at one time originally painted black. Very interesting item of the war in Russia.
