The Prince Alfons commemorative badge is an unofficial, private award donated by Prince Alfons, Maria, Franz, Clemens, Maximilian von Bayern at the beginning of the Weimar Republic. The prince, as a lover of hunting and patron and protector of warrior and military clubs as well as rifle clubs, donated the badge of honor for private reasons to honor deserving people. The commemorative mark comes silver-plated or gold-plated. However, it can be assumed that this does not represent a higher level of the badge, but rather a change in the course of the award or the purpose of the award. Different merits are mentioned in the accompanying documents. Generally awarded for patriotic merits, there are also formulations such as: "... for hunting, care and maintenance donated Prince Alfons commemorative mark... (on the Hubertus ribbon)". The badge was awarded with various ribbons as a backing. Well-known are the Hubertus ribbon (red with green edges), blue ribbon with white borders (for military clubs), green ribbon with white-blue border stripes (for rifle clubs), green ribbon with blue-white diamonds on the border (for small-caliber shooting clubs). Manufacturer and chairman of the award committee was M. Heinloth from Munich. The stamp on the documents bears the designation "His Königl. Highness D. Prince Alfonso V. Bavaria – Court Secretariat”. The award was continued after the prince's death in 1933. Last awards or wearing confirmations go back to the mid-late 1950s.
