Kaiserreich Zentenarmedaille - Kaiser Wilhelm I
In a good condition a comemorative medal for Emperor Wilhelm I.
The "Zentenarmedaille", also known as "Kaiser Wilhelm I. Erinnerungsmedaille 1897", was established by his grandson, Wilhelm II, on March 22, 1897, on the occasion of the 100th birthday of Wilhelm I.
The bronze medal had a diameter of 40 mm and hung from a 36 mm wide ribbon.
The obverse showed Wilhelm I in a military uniform with the inscription WILHELM / DER / GROSSE / DEUTSCHE / KAISER on the left and the inscription KOENIG / VON / PREUSSEN on the right.
The reverse shows the royal objects including the state crown, king's orb, sword and sceptre, displayed on a cushion surrounded by oak foliage. On the left a laurel branch is shown next to the text ZUM ANDENKEN AN DEN HUNDERTSTEN GEBURTSTAG DES GROSSEN KAISERS WILHELM I. 1797 22.MAERZ 1897.
