The Reichsverband Deutscher Kleintierzüchter were the caretaker of small animals like (hunting)dogs, but also rabbits, pigeons and otherwise. Various small animals were also used for the war effort. Like dogs and pigeons.
In 1937, the Reichsverband, from which the hunting associations had been separated, became the "Reichsfachgruppe Deutsches Hundewesen under the Reichsverband Deutscher Kleintierzüchter. In 1939 the RDH was spun off from the Reich Association of German Small Animal Breeders and became independent as the Reich Association for Dogs e.V. (RH). This was placed under the supervision of the Army High Command. In 1941 the Reichsfuhrer SS appointed Forstmeister Mueller became President of the RH in November, and dogs were put under the control of the SS.
