Preussen Durch Hohen Sieg das Siegebild zurück 1814
In an excellent condition a rememberance coin through a high victory the victory statue has returned 1814
In 1806 Napoleon took the statue on top of the Brandenburger Tor with him to Paris as a war trophy. In 1814 the Feldmarschall Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher reported to the Prussian king that the statue was found and the king ordered its immediate return to Berlin where the statue was placed back on the Tor.
The statue was seen from that moment a victory statue. And Prussian soldier paraded under the monument into the city when in victory. Before Napoleon the Brandenburger Tor was a city gate, one of many others in Berlin. The owner of this remembrance coin made a medal starlike holder around it so it could be worn as a victory medal.
The ring holding the medal and the ribbon ring looks to be a late restauration. The ribbon however is original.
