Laurel wreath from bronze and silver eagle.
The Luftwaffe observer badge was donated by Reichsmarschall Hermann Göring to the Commander-in-Chief of the Luftwaffe on January 19, 1935. Active soldiers of the Luftwaffe who had completed training as observers were entitled to receive. Soldiers from World War I could also receive this badge if they were already active as observers before the foundation and were still obliged to fly on official flights within the Air Force. The same applied to officials and soldiers who already had the observer, pilot or airship badge from the World War and were still obliged to fly on official flights.
