3rd Infantry Division K98 Artilley Parade/ Dress bayonet
One of a kind and in very good condition an Artillery dress bayonet with (Truppenkennzeichen) troopmarking.
The scabbard is repainted black and has pitting under the paint. The blade is marked with the logo of Carl Eickhorn. This specific logo was in use from 1935-1941. Which makes the placing of the bayonet with the 3rd division between the creation in 1934 and the destruction during the battle of Stalingrad in de winter of 42/43. The grip plates are in excellent condition, the red felt is also in place. Leather washer is also in excellent condition and in place.
The 3rd infantery division (motorized) has seen action in many campaigns during the 3rd Reich.

In 1943 the division was reconstituted but in that time frame it is impossible that this bayonet was made. A. The logo from Carl Eickhorn was not in use (no logo was used in that time frame) and B. there was an enormous shortage of materials and dress bayonets were not in top of the priority list for the war effort to make.
