Bavarian Max. Joseph I memorial medal 1813-1814

This honorary badge was given by King Maximilian Joseph I on December 4, 1814 to all soldiers who belonged to the deployed army in the years 1813, 1814 and 1815 or were only included and were part of the armed forces but did not fight. The Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Prince Wrede was the only soldier to receive a neck cross with gilding. Everyone else from general to soldier received this bronze cross. Shortly after the first award, doctors in the field were also included in the group of eligible recipients. Veterinarians were excluded. The cross was non-returnable and was also awarded posthumously. In addition, all the flags of those regiments and battalions of the mobile legions and the 3rd class National Guard, which did not belong to the deployed army but were ready to defend the border of the fatherland, received the military medal.
According to the statutes, the cross was without lacquered cross arms and gilded writing and medallions. These are private improvements that were forbidden as early as 1817.

Very nice original medal already over 200 years old. With safetypin and ribbon. This is a very old replacement pin because originally these medals were provided without.
